Dreaming Horses
This morning, I dream up a journey into a twilight colored desert expanse.
There are white, purple, orange, and sparkling grey pebbles beneath my feet. The sky is the deep blue color just before first light. There are white-barked trees swirling around, protected by large purple-grey boulders. I feel cacti humming nearby.
There are people with me, but I do not focus on them. Two white horses are contemplating me as I recover two severed white wings from the rock bed. I take a close look into the white patterns within the feathers.
I am pulled towards a large white horse, tethered to and by an unknown force.
The horse anxiously beckons me to come closer and by instinct I know exactly what I must do. I hold a white wing in each hand, moving immediately into ceremony.
I call upon the Four Directions, wings held high, asking that this horse get back it’s Flight. As I turn I am coming in and out of the two awareness’, a dizziness takes over my body, while my consciousness remains calm and sharp. Once I reach the North position, facing the great horse, I fall back into the gravely wash and bury the wings beneath the rocks of the riverbed with my hands.

I am deeply moved by this vision!
I find out later this afternoon that Kati shared this same dreamscape with me.
In her dream a white bird had it’s wings severed. She remembers a river, and also that I appeared nearby.
I feel that the people hanging around my dream must have been her and her husband!

The white winged horse has powerful meaning for me. Recently I had another dream in which I merged with a flying horse.
In childhood I was always imagining the Pegasus. I intuit that this white horse brings me closer to my Virginal self, my younger Artemis archetype. The white reflects a time of purity, the horse: power and the wings: balance. I am seeing that it is time for me to fly on my own! Uniting the Sky World with the Earth world; Spirit and Matter.
I intend to open fully to this great animal teacher, allowing its example to help me soar.
